This is show #80, Big Lick Blues!

Hey, welcome back, everyone! This is Dave Harrison coming at you once again in the blues filled studio in the Star City of Virginia… I’ve got another great show for you! This show is a festival preview podcast and is highlighting the artists that will be performing at this year’s Suntrust Big Lick Blues Festival to be held October 3rd in Roanoke, Virginia!

Well, we started off the show with our festival’s headliner, Delbert McClinton, singing “Going Back to Louisiana”… So who else are we gonna hear from on today's show other than Delbert? Well, we’ll here 6 songs from him, 4 from The Reverend Billy C. Wirtz and Victor Wainwright, 2 from Stacy Brooks, and 1 from The Mo’ Hippa Band!  So…. Are you ready for some Big Lick Blues? I hope so! Crank it up, my friends, we’re off and running!

In my first set, we’ll be starting off with Delbert singing “Do It”, followed by The Mo’ Hippa Band playing “Bad Case of Love”. They won the blues competition at this year’s Blue Ridge Blues & BBQ Festival! After that tune, we heard Delbert belting out “Little Fine Healthy Thing.” Our second set has Stacy Brooks singing “Rock Me, Baby” and “Hound Dog” followed up by Delbert closing the set with “Living It Down.”  My third set has three tunes from the funny as hell duo of The Reverend Billy C. Wirtz and Victor Wainwright playing “Shake, Rattle and Roll”, “Don’t Ya Just Know It” and “Female Problems”. Our 3 time Grammy winner Delbert McClinton closes out the BluzNdaBlood show with two of his hits,
“B Movie Box Car Blues” and “Giving It Up For Your Love”.

Well, we started off the show with “My Dog's Still Walkin'”, the title track of the brand new Alligator CD from Smokin' Joe Kubek and Bnois King!

So, who else are we gonna hear from on our Festival Preview Podcast? Well, we've got some samples of the blues bands competing in our blues competition from Noon until 5:00 pm! This show is only an hour long so I couldn't play everyone! So come out and hear them all! On this show, you'll be hearing The Contagious Blues Band playing Heavy Weather; Sol, Tell You a Story; The Cream of the Crop Blues Band, I Just Want A Little Bit; The Mike Lucci Band, River Hip Mama. Nine bands will be competing and the winner announced at 5:30 pm!

The Fat Daddy Band follows up on the show with Cab Driver Blues and Slick Bottom Shoes!

You’ll hear three great tunes from Damon Fowler! We’ll start with Sugar Lee, then Some Fun, and finishing with I’m Just a Old Chunk of Coal!

Our headliner this year is Smokin’ Joe Kubek and Bnois King! We’ll finish the Festival Preview Podcast with their band cranking out Don’t Lose My Number, Freezer Burn, and Flamethrower!
