This is show #96, Mannish Boys Blues, Celebrating 5 Years! Part Two!

Welcome back, my friends! It’s time for another episode of The BluzNdaBlood Show! This is your bluesman and DJ  Dave Harrison actually coming at you from the Blues Music Awards in Memphis, TN! … Well, this show is the second part to a very special episode! Ya know, The Mannish Boys are celebrating their 5 year anniversary and as a result, that’s gonna be the theme of this show! It’s the second part of the “Mannish Boys Blues, Celebrating 5 Years!” show!

Well, this show started off the show with “She Wants To Sell My Monkey”… It’s off the second Mannish Boys CD is called Live & In Demand and was recorded live at the Winthrop Music Festival. We’ll be hearing tracks off of many of the Mannish Boys CDs! But I also have a special treat for you and have my buddy Randy Chortkoff (the Delta/Eclecto Groove CEO) with me on the show! As a matter of fact, we’ve had so much fun and played so much music, I’ve had to split the show in two! So you’ll be listening to Part 2 on today’s show!

After talking to Randy a little bit about the band, we talk about the fourth CD offering from The Mannish Boys called Lowdown Feelin’, which was a tremendous success! We’ll hear two songs after Randy describes some details about them. We’ll hear “Chocolate Drop” and “Rude Groove”.

The Mannish Boys were also included on two volumes that were recorded as a part of the 3rd Annual Delta Groove All-Star Blues Revue. We’re then treated with a Kirk Fletcher tune called “Lucille” from Volume One of the 3rd Annual Delta Groove All-Star Blues Revue CD.

Well, it seems like The Mannish Boys just get better and better with each release! Fortunately we’ve now got their 5th year offering to the blues world, it’s Shake For Me. I let Randy pick two of his favorite songs on the CD, and what great picks he made! Here’s “Educated Ways” and “The Bullet”…..

Well, that wraps up Show #96, “Mannish Boys Blues, Celebrating 5 Years!” show, Part Two!

Special thanks to Randy Chortkoff for his time and to Jody Best for arranging the interview!

Well, you know the routine! Now that you’ve heard this great music, go out and by the music! Or go out and see them live! Then buy their music and tell them you heard their music on The BluzNdaBlood Show!
