BluzNdaBlood Dave Harrison

Jun 15, 2008

This is show #50, The Birthday Blues Show for the first part of June, 2008.

Welcome back, everyone! This is Dave Harrison, coming at ya once again inside the birthday blues studio in the Star City of Virginia! It’s party time! It’s not only our 50th show on the podcast but also our 2 year anniversary! Whoopie! So are you ready to look back at the birth and growth of the BluzNdaBlood podcast and some flashbacks on the memories I have in creating them? The response has been so overwhelming that we’re devoting Show 50 to go up until Show 29, the Show #51 will focus on Shows 30 through 50! You strapped in and ready for some blues? I hope so! Crank it up my friends, we’re off and running!

Well, we started of the show with Tommy Castro playing Nasty Habits! Ya know, he allowed me to play a lot of his music early on, which really help launch the show!  Following Tommy, we’ll hear Tinsley Ellis, Hooked; James Cotton, High Compression; Janiva Magness, Stealin Sugar; Mighty Lester, Swingin at Lesters; R.L. Burnside and the Sound Machine, Jumper Hanging Out On The Line; B.T. Richardson, Hot Damn Mama; Candye Kane, You Need A Great Big Woman; Watermelon Slim and the Workers, Truck Driving Momma; Billy Jones, Da’ Love Doctor; and finally The Hard Bargain Blues Band, with Birthday Blues.

Special thanks to all the record labels, the artists, and the listeners who helped contribute to the show!  A special thank you always goes out to Michael Allen and the
Crossroads Blues Gallery for the excellent artwork that enhances my web pages!

Be sure to swing by the BluzNdaBlood home page! There are new pages that highlight details of the artists that I play! Please come over, click on their albums, and buy some of their tunes! Or e-mail them and let them know you enjoy their music and you hear it on the BluzNdaBlood show!

Special news for everyone! Hey, guess what? BluzNdaBlood T-shirts, cups, posters, bags, and lots of other items are coming your way soon! A major portion of the proceeds will go to a foundation that provides funds for medical needs to ailing blues musicians! Absolutely nothing goes into Dave’s pockets! More info on the BluzNdaBlood web site!
