Welcome back, my friends! It’s time for another episode of The BluzNdaBlood Show! This is bluesman and DJ  Dave Harrison coming at you from the Star City of Virginia… Well, this show is a very special one! Ya know, The Mannish Boys are celebrating their 5 year anniversary and as a result, that’s gonna be the theme of this show! It’s the “Mannish Boys Blues, Celebrating 5 Years!” show!

Well, I started off the show with “Going Crazy Over TV” which was the very first track from the very first 2004 Mannish Boys CD called That Represent Man. We’ll be hearing tracks off of all of the Mannish Boys CDs! But I also have a special treat for you and have my buddy Randy Chortkoff (the Delta/Eclecto Groove CEO) with me on the show! As a matter of fact, we’ve had so much fun and played so much music, I’ve had to split the show in two! So you’ll be listening to Part 1 on today’s show!

After talking to Randy a little bit about the band, we’ll hear two more tunes off of the very well-received first offering, with “I’m A Lover Not A Fighter” and “I Feel So Bad.”

The second Mannish Boys CD is called Live & In Demand and was recorded live at the Winthrop Music Festival. You’ll hear Kid Ramos start things off with a great tune called “Kid’s Jump.” After hearing more details about the festival from Randy, you’ll be treated to “You’re Sweet” and “Mystery Train.”

In 2007, the third CD from The Mannish Boys was titled Big Plans and there’s no doubt they have them! We’ll hear “Border Town Blues” to start off playing this very strong CD, then we’ll hear Tom Leavey’s tune “Mary Jane” and Randy’s “Mine All Mine.” Great stuff! Well, before I run out of time, I wanted to end our Part One show with a sneak preview of a tune on The Mannish Boys newest CD, Shake For Me…. Here’s that Muddy Water’s tune, “Champagne & Reefer.”

That wraps up Show #95, “Mannish Boys Blues, Celebrating 5 Years!” show, Part One! Make sure to check back in and hear Part Two! It’s a good one!

Special thanks to Randy Chortkoff for his time and to Jody Best for arranging the interview!

Well, you know the routine! Now that you’ve heard this great music, go out and buy the music! Or go out and see them live! Then buy their music and tell them you heard their music on The BluzNdaBlood Show!
