The BluzNdaBlood Show #28; Melanie, Massacre, Melon and Moving On

This is show #28, âMelanie, Massacre, Melon, and Moving Onâ? for the first part of May, 2007.

Welcome back, my blues brothers and sisters! This is Dave Harrison, your blues dude from the BluzNdaBlood podcast coming at ya from the beautiful <placename w:st="on">Star</placename> <placetype w:st="on">City</placetype> of <state w:st="on"><place w:st="on">Virginia</place></state>! Well, this show has been in the works for a little while. I decided to do the Watermelon Slim interview first. Honestly, it seemed easier to crank out since Iâve had a tough time focusing on the shows.

The theme of this show is four Mâs. Melanie, the first M, is the great artist I happened to hear. She opened for Buddy Guy and we will hear two great songs from her this show. On April 16th, the Massacre (the second M) happened at Va Tech and the world slowed down to a crawl. Me included. Fortunately, WaterMelon Slim (Melon, is the third M) came into town and he helped me get out of my funk with an interview! Finally we are Moving On (the final M) with a special tribute for Virginia Tech as the last song of the show! Ready for our show about four Mâs? Hope so! Crank it up my friends, weâre off and running!

We started off the 4 M show with Memphis P. Tails with It Aint Easy!
The BluzNdaBlood Blues Podcast #27, Watermelon Slim Interview

This is show #27, Watermelon Slim for the last part of April, 2007.

Welcome back, my friends! This is Dave Harrison, your DJ for the BluzNdaBlood podcast coming at ya once again from the beautiful <placename w:st="on">Star</placename> <placetype w:st="on">City</placetype> of <state w:st="on"><place w:st="on">Virginia</place></state>! Well, this show was meant to be a combination of tunes from various artists and an interview I had with Watermelon Slim! As I was putting the show together, I decided to separate these into two shows! Some listeners always comment that they like the show for a lack of talking! So Iâll be making two different shows. This one and one coming out shortly that has lots of various artists!

Watermelon Slim came through my part of the world on the 22nd and he was gracious enough to let me throw some questions his way! I visited Slim at his hotel about 45 minutes before he was to go on stage at a new local venue in town called the 202 Market. The weather was beautiful and his hotel door was open. Youâll hear trucks, cars, birds, and even Mike Newberry coming in the room while Slim was singing a holler for us. I hope this interview gives you a chance to learn about one of the greatest bluesman touring today. So what tunes are gonna be added in between some of the questions? We are starting off with the Draft Board Blues, followed by some great tunes off his brand new NorthernBlues Music CD, The Wheel Man. Iâll be playing Newspaper Reporter, Iâve Got News, Truck Driving Mama, and Drinking and Driving! Ready to get started? Crank it up my friends, weâre off and running!
